Spring has sprung, and so have all the allergens, pollen, dust, and mildew that go along with it! Time to freshen up your boat with some spring cleaning. If you’re stumped as to where to start, read on for some pointers on what to spring clean on your boat. We’re offering some great product recommendations to help with the heavy lifting, too!
Clean the Exterior
Once you’ve pulled your boat out of winter storage, it’s time to give it a good once-over cleaning, from bow to stern. To thoroughly clean the exterior of your boat, start with our all-purpose Boat Cleaner, now in its new formula. It will clean the surface of any dirt or grime from last season, while leaving the fiberglass ready for waxing. After cleaning, if stains remain, use our Fiberglass Powder Cleaner & Stain Remover to work them out. It’s gentle enough that it won’t damage the fiberglass gel coat, yet strong enough to remove tough, unsightly stains and streaks. Now your boat is ready for waxing.
Wax the Exterior
Our PolyShine® Premium Boat Polish, a liquid polymer formula, is a great first step. Simply buff on PolyShine with a soft cloth and allow the surface to dry. This will prep the surface for the application of LifeWax®, our pure Carnauba wax. Together, the two products create a long-lasting wax and shine good for up to three years. Plus, with UV protectant built in, you can rest assured that your fiberglass wax will withstand the harmful effects of UV rays.
Clean the Interior
Once the exterior is clean, now it is time to focus on the interior of your vessel. Start by wiping down surfaces and allowing to air dry. If you spot any mildew from the past season, our Mildew Remover is great for eradicating it on the spot! Simply spray on Mildew Remover, wipe, and you’re done! For cleaning upholstery, canvas, or vinyl surfaces, our VinyLIFE® Vinyl Cleaner & Protectant works wonders. Easy to use, it will clean and also protect with UV protection. Last but not least, our Aluminum Cleaner is great for cleaning and polishing any aluminum fittings, as well as our Stainless Steel Cleaner for removing any unwanted fingerprints and stains.
Live Well and Bait Well
If you do any fishing, it is important to keep your live well and bait well areas clean to prevent the spread of disease. We’ve designed a product that does exactly that! Our Live Well & Bait Well Cleaner will disinfect, sanitize, and eliminate odor from surfaces without the use of harsh chemicals. Plus, it’s environmentally safe and non-toxic to wildlife.
