About Teak Deck Sealant
BoatLIFE’s Teak Deck Sealant is silicone-based deck sealant that is ideal for teak deck seams. Easy to use and tack-free in 30 minutes, this acid-free, neutral curing sealant is sandable once fully cured after a 24-hour period. Refer to our blog post on The Importance of Neutral Curing When Choosing a Boat Sealant to learn about neutral cures. What’s more, fully cured Teak Deck Sealant is resistant to teak cleaners, teak oils, gasoline and diesel fuel, and does not require a primer before application. We recommend to complete all painting prior to applying boat sealants.
Teak Deck Sealant is currently available in a 10.5 fl. oz. cartridge in black. Be sure to store all boat caulks and sealants at temperatures below 90° Fahrenheit. Temperature and humidity also play an important role in determining final cure time. Check with the manufacturer for suggested temperature ranges prior to application. Finally, if painting is required, always test your specific paint with the sealant for compatibility before application.
